PR Button has teamed up with Ness Cotton Designs to offer fully integrated communication and design solutions, providing a strong and effective component to PR Button’s community consultation, public relations and community education projects.
Ness Cotton is a qualified graphic designer with over fifteen years industry experience.
As a strategic, multidisciplinary designer Ness is a creative with an eye for innovation and the perfect design solution. Her clients include the City of Darwin, the Northern Territory Government, Browns Mart Theatre and Amity, to name a few, and although her skill set is vast, her greatest expertise is brand identity design, creative thinking, illustration and print collateral.
Joint projects include Relationships Australia NT’s “Tell me about it” campaign, Carers NT Annual Report and Connect magazine, the Mt Johns Flood consultation and NT Government Flood mitigation maps.
Ness has an Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication and Design.
The Mt Johns Flood Immunity project, for the Northern Territory Government, included the development of the communication strategy and community consultation to identify suitable options for flood immunity in Alice Springs.
Stage One consultation, completed in October 2015, identified key issues for consideration by the technical design team. The Stage Two consultation, August 2016, included much broader consultation with the Alice Springs community, public information displays and meetings with key stakeholders.
During the project campaign 119 responses were received from members of the public and over 100 people attended public information displays without any negative media exposure. Key findings from this consultation have recently been released to the public as part of a broader study of infrastructure projects in Alice Springs.
PR Button provides executive media advice to leading development, construction and hospitality company Halikos Group on a range of projects including the development of the new master planned community, Northcrest, and helped produce the company’s 30th anniversary 24 page lift-out in the NT News.
PR Button has worked with Carers NT since 2016 to develop the public profile and increase understanding and awareness of the role of carers in our community. Work includes redevelopment of their website, corporate communications such as the Annual Report, a new bi-annual magazine and media relations.
AANT – FUEL PRICING
PR Button was engaged by AANT to work with the member-based organisation to develop key messaging in response to soaring fuel prices in the Northern Territory in 2014 and an investigation into the pricing model by the ACCC. Ongoing support was provided into 2015 with the promotion of a key partnership between AANT and United Fuel to offer AANT members a considerable fuel discount which contributed to greater pricing competition across the Territory.
When Relationships Australia NT wanted to market its Employee Assistance Program to Government employees, PR Button developed a fresh approach for dealing with an issue that is often only talked about behind closed doors.
The #tellmeaboutit campaign aimed at removing the stigma of using counseling services with a friendly invitation to assist people seeking help. Featuring a hash-tag and iconic Territory animals, the campaign has been used online, in printed collateral and bus advertising.
Results from the campaign indicate an increase in the provision of Employee Assistance Services and social media participation.
Dealing with the media in the NT isn’t all about crocs, cops and cyclones. While the thought of giving a media interview may be daunting, understanding what makes news, how the local media operates and what you want to say will make the process easier. Drawing on extensive experience of working with the media, PR Button’s Executive Media Training workshop will help you learn the skills to get your message across. Workshops include:
Workshops can be designed to suit your company’s needs form one-on-one training to lecture format as part of a much broader skills development workshop.
Ensuring that community concerns and issues are heard and considered is vital to the success of any project which reaches across a broad and varied audience.
